Pesticide Application Records: What GorillaDesk and Jobber Can and Can’t Log

Records features were checked against each vendor’s own pages, and the state rules against a USDA page, on October 23, 2026.

How we put this together: We haven’t logged a pesticide application in either tool. This guide lists what each vendor’s own feature and help pages say you can record. “Not documented” means we didn’t find it on those pages, not that the tool can’t do it. This is not legal advice, and nothing here says either tool meets your state’s rules.

Best for…

  • A pest or lawn operator who wants the product, EPA registration number, amount, dilution, method and target pest in one place: GorillaDesk’s pages document all of those, plus areas treated and the device used.
  • An operator who needs to record applicator license numbers, time of application and weather: Jobber’s help article lists applicator license numbers, date and time, and weather. GorillaDesk’s pages don’t mention those three.
  • Anyone who isn’t sure what their state wants: start with your state agency’s form, then see which tool has a place for each line.

The short answer

  • GorillaDesk documents a master materials list with the product name, manufacturer, EPA registration number, active ingredients and dilution rates. Per job, it documents quantity, unit, application method, device, target pests and the areas treated.
  • Jobber does have chemical tracking. Its help article lists a Chemicals List, applicator license numbers, the service address, date and time, chemical name and concentration, weather, and reports by date, client or applicator. Its feature page adds registration number and target pests. It says the feature is on “select plans” and that chemicals must be recorded from jobber.com, not the mobile app (that article is dated April 10, 2024).
  • Neither page set promises compliance. GorillaDesk says many states require records kept “up to seven years,” and Jobber mentions jurisdictions that require “up to seven years.” The USDA page we read shows minimums of 2 or 3 years for the six states it covers. Check your own state.

1. What each vendor documents recording

Items are listed the way the vendor’s pages describe them. “Documented” means we saw it on the vendor’s own feature or help page.

2. Check your state’s form first

States ask for different things and keep records for different lengths of time. The USDA Agricultural Research Service publishes a table for six northeastern states. Here it is, trimmed to the columns that matter. Your state may not be on it.

Source: USDA ARS, State Pesticide Applicator Recordkeeping Requirements. The page covers only these six states, and its footer shows “Last Modified: 8/12/2016,” so rules may have changed. Compare these lines with your state agency’s current form.

  • Maine and Pennsylvania list applicator certification numbers, and Maine and Maryland list time of application. The GorillaDesk pages we read don’t document a field for either. That doesn’t mean you can’t record them another way, and we haven’t tested it. Ask GorillaDesk support how you would.
  • Jobber’s pages don’t document an amount or application-method field by name. Several states above ask for quantity or method. Ask Jobber support what the “Application Details” section holds.

This guide is not legal advice. We aren’t telling you what your state requires or that either tool satisfies it. Your state agency’s form is the authority.

Bottom line

On the vendors’ own pages, GorillaDesk documents more of the product-level details (quantity, method, areas, device), and Jobber documents more of the who, when and weather details (applicator license numbers, date and time, weather). Get your state’s form, mark every line on it, and make each vendor show you where that line goes before you pay.

Before you pay

  • Print your state agency’s form and check each line against the tool.
  • Log one treatment end to end, then download the report and read it.
  • Ask support in writing which plan includes chemical tracking, and keep the reply.

Both vendors offer a free trial. Log one real treatment and see what the record looks like.
